Department of Anaesthesia

Welcome to the Department of Anaesthesia
The Department was established to provide Anaesthesia services in all operating theaters, to manage or take care of patients in the Recovery Wards, and to provide training and research in the Hospital.
In addition, the Department currently oversees the management of critically ill patients in the Surgical Intensive Care/High Dependency Units (ICU/HDU) and holds two specialist clinics – the Pre-anaesthesia Clinic and the Pain Clinic.
The Department provides service in 25 theaters in ten different theater suites scattered across the hospital. It also gives anesthesia care for patients who require it in the Radiology Department for CT scan/MRI and occasionally in other areas like Radiotherapy, Endoscopy, etc.
We have a total of 42 beds in our Recovery Wards and the ICU/HDU.
