Korle Bu Awarded For Sterling Performance During COVID Period

The Hospital and a member of its staff were yesterday awarded for their sterling performance during the COVID-19 period.

The Hospital’s Chief Executive, Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah received a plaque and citation in recognition of Korle Bu’s immense contribution in healthcare delivery during the country’s COVID-19 pandemic.

The former Director of Medical Affairs, Dr. Ali Samba also received the Order of the Volta, a plaque and citation for the leadership role he played during the pandemic.

Dr. Ali was appointed by the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo as the country’s Case Management lead during the Covid-19 period.

The awards are a testimony of the role that staff played in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

It will be recalled that during the outbreak of the pandemic, staff of the Hospital were called to join the national team as well as various hospitals and patient management centres in the metropolis to lead the fight.
