The National Case Management Team, partnered by USAID/RISE and supported by CHAI organized a 2-day Facility-Based Training workshop at the Infectious Diseases Center at KBTH.
This training built the capacity of Staff on the management of mild and moderate COVID-19 using oral antivirals, from Monday, 12th to Tuesday, 13th June, 2023.
The National Case Management Team Lead and immediate-past Director of Medical Affairs, KBTH, Dr. Ali Samba, welcomed participants on the first day and in his address gave the rationale for the workshop. He added that there has been similar training in various regions across the country. However, the ongoing set of training is focused on Teaching Hospitals so as to augment the important role they play in care delivery in the country.
Participants trained included Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Public Health Officers, Laboratorians and Administrators from the Polyclinic, Public Health, Fevers and Emergency units.
The team of Facilitators from the National Case Management team were Dr. Peter Puplampu, Dr. Chris Owoo, Dr. Lawrence Ofori-Boadu, Mr. Augustine Sagoe and Mr. Ebenezer Boakye Amponsah, with support staff from USAID/RISE.
