Course information:
Format: Monthly online classes
Aim: This course is focused on teaching skills necessary for proposal development, conduct of original research, report writing and publishing a manuscript in a peer-reviewed journal.
Learning outcomes:
- Generate a clinical research question using the outcome, determinants and domain format; FINER criteria
- Critical appraise and synthesise literature
- Explain the various data collection designs
- Appreciate various data analysis techniques
- Understand basic data analysis results
- Prepare a manuscript for a peer reviewed journal
Timelines:
Part I
- Month 1- 4: Proposal development and securing ethical approval
- Month 5-8: Data management and statistical analysis
Part II
- Month 9-10: Report writing and getting published
- Month: 11-12: Ask the expert sessions
Duration: 10 hours in total; first Wednesday of every month*
