Who can participate: Early career researchers who are healthcare providers

Cost: 150 Ghana cedis monthly for 12 months

Course dates : part I : 3rd May, 2023 to 7th December 2023

part II: 7th Jan to 3rd April 2024

Course information:
Format: Monthly online classes

Aim: This course is focused on teaching  skills necessary for proposal development, conduct of original research, report writing and publishing a manuscript in a peer-reviewed journal.

Learning outcomes:

  • Generate a clinical research question using the outcome, determinants and domain format; FINER criteria
  • Critical appraise and synthesise literature
  • Explain the various data collection designs
  • Appreciate various data analysis techniques
  • Understand basic data analysis results
  • Prepare a manuscript for a peer reviewed journal

Timelines:
Part I

  • Month 1- 4: Proposal development and securing ethical approval
  • Month 5-8: Data management and statistical analysis

Part II

  • Month 9-10: Report writing and getting published
  • Month: 11-12: Ask the expert sessions

Duration: 10 hours in total; first Wednesday of every month*

A limited number of scholarships are available to assist eligible applicants from KBTH/SOFOG. Awards vary based on need, and a typical award will cover a portion the cost of additional contact time/mentorship.
