Dr Roberta Lamptey is passionate about diabetes self-management education. Her research interest is focused on improving outcomes at the primary care level. She is currently working on the CREATE study as the Co-Principal Investigator. CREATE is an NIHR-funded study aimed at improving outcomes in cardio-metabolic diseases in Ghana, Kenya and Mozambique. She has authored papers in the Lancet journals.
Roberta is a consultant Family Physician and Diabetologist for the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH).
She is also a part-time lecturer at the University of Ghana Medical School.
Dr Lamptey received her training in diabetes from Cardiff University at the Postgraduate and Masters degree levels. She also holds a PhD in clinical epidemiology from Utrecht University.
She is the Chair of the Ghana Chapter of the Faculty of Family Medicine, WACP. She also serves as a diabetes expert to the NCD control program of Ghana.
