The Ministry of Health handed over the Infectious Diseases Centre and Fevers Unit to the Hospital to commence usage.
The two projects were handed over by the Director in Charge of Infrastructure at the Ministry of Health, Mr. Ben Nkansah Ampomah. The keys to the two areas were received by the Hospital’s Management, led by the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, after a tour and approval on work done.
Handing over the keys, Mr. Nkansah urged Management to ensure good maintenance practices are upheld while providing top-notch care to patients.
Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah was grateful to the Ministry of Health and the World Bank, the project financiers, for the facility.
He emphasized that all stakeholders for the Hospital should be accountable and urged all to put in their collective effort to ensure the structures and equipment are maintained while providing highly-skilled care to patients.
For the Infectious Diseases Centre, Dr. Ampomah noted that the place would be immediately used to care for some staff and anyone else who tests positive for the Lassa Fever.
For the Fevers Unit, he was happy about the transformation of the Unit.
He was hopeful the new phase would translate into the provision of quality care to the patients.
The Fevers Unit was constructed by Golden Mainland while Benpartners Building Company Limited and Kissart Group Limited constructed to the Infectious Diseases Centre.
