Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap)

Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) Quickly build databases and surveys tailored to your research needs

About REDCap

REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a cost-free, safe, web-based software intended for swiftly constructing databases and surveys suited to research studies. Research teams are capable of transforming a database or survey idea into a fully-functional tool within one day. The new version of REDCap adheres to HIPAA regulations but does not comply with 21 CFR Part 11. The system was born out of a collaborative initiative led by Vanderbilt University and has since seen widespread use nationwide across diverse research fields.

Benefits of REDCap

  • Input data from any global location with secure web authentication, data logging, and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption.
  • Designed to enhance longitudinal, prospective, and/or retrospective studies and multicenter clinical trials.
  • Features web-based case report forms, real-time data entry validation (for example, for data types, range checks), audit trails, and the functionality to set a calendar to schedule and track important study events like blood draws, participant visits.
  • Multi-site access: Allows for collaborative work among researchers from different sites and institutions.
  • Advanced question features: Includes auto-validation, branching logic, and stop actions Automated 'approval' for project modifications in production.
  • Enhanced editing abilities for event definition and instrument designation.
  • Export survey results to popular data analysis software. Export your data to Microsoft Excel, SAS, STATA, R, or SPSS for analysis
