Chief Executive Officer of World Child Cancer visited the Hospital’s Paediatric OncologyChief Executive Officer of World Child Cancer.

The Chief Executive Officer of World Child Cancer (WCC), Mr. Luke Thomas, and his Team visited the Hospital’s Paediatric Oncology Unit last Friday.

The purpose of the visit was to enable personnel from World Child Cancer see the impact of their support and to create also a memorable experience to reinforces WCC’s commitment and inspire their continued support.

The visit also enabled patients to showcase their work and for staff and patients to share their experiences, success stories and further strengthen their mutual partnership.

Mr. Thomas and his Team from WCC were given a comprehensive tour of the Paediatric Oncology Unit, the ward, chemotherapy unit and the library by head of the Unit, Professor Lorna Renner.

The Team also had the privilege of meeting several patients and their relatives, hear their stories and see the hope in their eyes, which reinforced the importance WCC’s suport has on their lives and work.

Professor Lorna Awo Renner expressed her sincere gratitude to Mr Luke Thomas and World Child Cancer for their unwavering support to patients and the Unit, in the detection and treatment of childhood cancers.
