Korle Bu Nurse wins Lifetime Achievement Award

A Principal Nursing Officer (PNO) at the Paediatric Oncology Unit of the Hospital, Enyo Asi Bosumprah, recently won the first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award (Nursing Category) at the 14th Congress of SIOP Africa 2022 in Uganda. Her award was in recognition of her dedicated service in Paediatric Oncology, including the training of nurses in this area of care delivery.

PNO Enyo Bosumprah has been a board member of the International Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) Nursing Group since 2019 and has made several oral presentations at SIOP congresses over the years. She was part of the committee that drafted the International Nursing Basic Standards several years ago.

PNO Bosumprah is well known in the international nursing community and also consulted on issues relating to paediatric oncology nursing in Africa. PNO Enyo Asi Bosumprah has been practising as a paediatric nurse in the Hospital for close to 19 years. She was employed in the Hospital in 2003 and subsequently posted to Child Health Department in 2004 as an Oncology nurse.

She was born in Ada-Fish on May 6, 1973 at Peki Adzokoe. She had her secondary school education at Peki Secondary School and her Sixth form at Ola Secondary School, all in the Volta Region.She had her tertiary education at the University of Ghana, Legon where she graduated with a degree in Nursing Psychology. PNO Bosumprah enjoys dancing and listening to music to relax.
